On this day in 1955, Rosa Parks changed American history by refusing to give up her seat on a Montgomery, Alabama bus and was arrested. This refusal spurred the 381 day Montgomery Bus Boycott. Rosa worked with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to promote Civil Rights. Today, this historic bus is housed in the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan (photo courtesy of Jill Balota Cross). |
