Do you love a great story?
Of course you do and so do young learners! History is full of great stories; some sad, some funny, others inspiring or unbelievable. I still cringe when I hear individuals comment that young learners "don't get it." History is storytelling and when you approach it from that perspective, kids take it in. It is truly a joy to be a part of.
Through these pages and images, I hope that you can also see the joy and curiosity that young learners can take in. History IS NOT a collection of dry dates to be memorized. It is a beautiful tapestry of stories, from individuals with all backgrounds, skin colors, and self-identity, sharing the joy and struggles of our world. Kids can be inspired and learn to forge their own path of change in the world.
It is my hope that by sharing stories, these kids will change the world.
