Moffat's Travels has been ten plus years in the making. My ideas have stemmed from classroom experience, travels with our own children, my own interest in history and geography,  a love of photography, and an appreciation of quality children's literature.

Over the years, I have had the fortunate opportunity to travel and learn through summer institutes with the National Endowment for the Humanities, Gilder Lehrman, the National Portrait Gallery and Colonial Williamsburg.  I was honored to be named the 2017 Colorado State History Teacher of the Year by Gilder Lehrman and to receive the 2018 Outstanding Educator of the Year by the Colorado Council for Social Studies.

My goal is to share with other early elementary teachers and parents the high interest level geography and history has for young learners and show how this interest can be a valuable addition to the classroom.

Enjoy!
