Needing some kid inspiration tonight...

Two of my current students this last Halloween.
I teach first grade and I LOVE teaching my kids about American history.  Macey Hensley is invited to my room anytime!  I am thinking I could learn a thing or two from this little girl.  She is an inspiration!

Tonight is the end of an era in our country.  We live in a democracy and democracy brings change.  Change is hard. It is scary. Tonight, I am struggling.  I am finding myself watching President Obama videos that are popping up all over the place.  I need to smile as I struggle to wipe away my tears.

This brings me back to my profession.

Kids.  I love them!  I love their enthusiasm, innocence and generally positive outlook on life.  Tonight, Macey's knowledge and spunk are making me smile and I need it.  Go Macey! I am glad you were able to meet President Obama. Thank you Ellen for making it happen.  You are welcome to visit my classroom anytime!
